Our Desert Experience
Wadi Rum is located in southern Jordan, near the Saudi Arabian border. It is approximately 1 hour from Aqaba, 1.5 hours from Petra, and 4 hours from Amman by car. The area is officially known as the Wadi Rum Protected Area and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You can reach Wadi Rum by:
• Private car (to Wadi Rum Village or the Wadi Rum Visitor Center)
• Taxi or private driver from Petra, Aqaba, or Amman
• Public transportation to Aqaba or Petra, then a taxi to Wadi Rum
Private transport is the most convenient option, especially if you are traveling on a tight schedule or with luggage.

Yes. Entry to the Wadi Rum Protected Area requires an entrance fee.
• The fee is included with the Jordan Pass
• Otherwise, it is paid at the Wadi Rum Visitor Center

Visitors can enter Wadi Rum independently, but exploring the protected area without a local guide or organized tour is limited. Most of the main sites are best accessed with a guide who knows the area, the routes, and the regulations of the protected area
